LATIN CLUB = FUN WITH DEAD LANGUAGES!

Salvete, omnes! The Latin Club, also known as the Dead Language League, is a club open to all students who are currently taking Latin or are interested in the Latin language. This is a social and academic club for those who are enthusiastic about Roman culture/ history/ language and are interested in sharing their enthusiasm with other like minded Latin Lovers.  Activities include mythology trivia, exploring Roman culinary arts, hosting Roman dinner parties, and discussing Latin. Carpe diem!
Planned Activities in Latin Club for 2019-2020:

*Extensive consumption of food and drink in typical Roman-banquet style
​
*Annual trip to Amorino, a traditional Italian gelateria in Boston
 
*Mythology and etymology trivia contests for bragging rights and prizes
 
*Entrance in a number of Latin and Greek competitions, such as Certamen, the National Mythology Exam, and the National Etymology Exam

Latin Club meetings take place once a month on Mondays after school in Room 109 and will be announced during Advisory and by email and Twitter. 

 

Sign-ups for Latin Club and Officer Elections take place in September and October. In order to be an official member, you must attend at least 4 meetings during the academic year and participate often and enthusiastically. Have fun with it!
